INDIANAPOLIS, Oct. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Simon Property Group, Inc. (NYSE: SPG), a global leader in retail real estate, today announced the grand opening of the redeveloped The Shops at Nanuet, a 750,000 square foot open-air, state-of-the-art main street center providing customers with a multitude of options for everyday shopping and other daily activities, including dining out, staying fit and attending a movie.

Three exciting new anchors will debut at The Shops at Nanuet: upscale grocer Fairway Market (opening today), Regal Cinemas (opening November 2013), and 24-Hour Fitness (opening December 2013). They will join existing anchors Macy's and Sears at the property.

Fairway Market has established itself as a leading food retailing destination in the Greater New York City metropolitan area, with stores that emphasize an extensive selection of fresh, natural and organic products, prepared foods and hard-to-find specialty and gourmet offerings, along with a full assortment of conventional groceries.

Guests at the 12-screen Regal Cinemas theater at The Shops at Nanuet will enjoy a custom-built premium environment featuring elegant and luxurious seats with high-back headrests, a giant immersive screen illuminated by high-quality digital projectors and completed with a 9.1 pinpoint surround sound system. Regal Entertainment Group operates the largest and most geographically diverse theatre circuit in the United States, consisting of 7,334 screens in 575 theatres as of September 26, 2013.

Since its first club opened in California in 1979, 24-Hour Fitness has been a different type of club – one dedicated to providing great experiences and contemporary facilities that help people change their lives through fitness. With personal training services, innovative group exercise classes and a variety of strength, cardio and functional training equipment – 24-Hour Fitness offers fitness solutions for everyone.

A broad collection of fashion and specialty retailers will make The Shops at Nanuet the retail hub of Rockland County. Beginning today, shoppers will find popular brands including The Apple Store, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Bath & Body Works, Brighton Collectibles, Coach, Express, Gap/ GapKids/ babyGap/ GapBody, J. Crew, J. Jill, Jos. A. Bank, L'Occitane, LOFT, Lovesac, lululemon athletica wear, LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics, Michael Kors, Soma Intimates, Sur La Table, Vera Bradley, Victoria's Secret and White House | Black Market. Other stores to open before year end include Sleep Number by Select Comfort, Starbucks, and Paper Source, with Chico's, Sephora and Lucky Brands opening in early 2014. Nearly half of these retailers are new to this community.

The Shops at Nanuet will also be a convenient destination for quality dining, with new restaurants Bonefish Grill (opening October 14), Zinburger (opening October 28) and more to come in 2014 including PF Chang's and BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse. During the four-day grand opening weekend, eight food trucks, each with unique food offerings typically found on the streets of Manhattan, will be stationed onsite.
